What makes a person a success? How do successful people differ from the unsuccessful ones? Look at some of the successful people you know. Notice that they don’t have the best education, the highest grades or the most breaks in life. They are not the smartest people in the world. Then what made them successes?
For one thing, successful people never say, "I can’t do it. It’s too hard, I don’t have the skills." They may have some momentary doubts but deep down they know they can succeed. They have confidence in their abilities. They believe in themselves. They have that success state of mind.
More importantly, they know what has to be done and they actually go out and do it, Successful people take the action necessary to succeed. They do things others only talk about doing. They even do things that no one else wants to do. After taking that first step, they keep on going no matter what. They donut give up.
Why aren’t the majority of people successful? Believe it or not, it is because most of us don’t expect to be successful. As we get older and immersed in daily living, everyday routine takes over and we are too busy trying to make a living and coping with responsibilities. When young, we believed nothing could stop us, nothing could go wrong. We had an "I can do it all" attitude. Somewhere along the way our attitude changed. Too many failures, too many setbacks, too many responsibilities, too much routine living sapped us of our energy and our will to succeed.
Consequently, we lost track of our dreams. All of the hopes and dreams of childhood evaporated. We eventually expected to fail and of course it became a self fulfilling prophecy.
