Now and then, even the biggest among us occasionally need a little help. The tug boats are helping to guide the cargo ship into port.  Helping it to turn, to avoid obstacles and to maneuver.

A tug boat is defined to be a small powerful boat designed for towing or pushing larger vessels.

Their propulsion system is the main reason behind their enormous strength.

A tugboat maneuvers other vessels by pushing or pulling them.  They “tug” by direct contact or by a tow line. Tugs move vessels that can’t maneuver on their own.  Ships in a crowded harbor or in a narrow canal, or those that cannot move by themselves, such as barges, disabled ships, log rafts, or oil platforms.

Tugboats are powerful for their size and strongly built. Tugboats are highly maneuverable.

Tug boats are like mentors

Many times we need a little help from our mentor/coach to maneuver through the trials and tribulation of internet and affiliate marketing.  Tugs are powerful and strongly built.  Our mentors are strong and know how to guide us around obstacles to our goals. They give us support and guide us to success.

Most mentors have direct contact with us but they can also throw us a tow line when needed.

I have a mentor who has two Clickfunnel 2 comma club awards. A 2 comma club award is given to a marketer who has sold $1,000,000 (that’s a million dollars) using Clickfunnels.  And this successful marketer has 2 of them.

Yet he pays (don’t faint here) $30,000 a year to his mentor. Even though he is a very successful internet marketer he knows the value of having a mentor to guide you when things get rough or just to help get on the right course and stay there.

My other mentors are John Thornhill and Randy Smith.  They have the Partnership to Success program.  I consulted with them when I created my product.  They helped with every aspect of it from creation, to getting JVs for the launch, to mailing their list.  They critiqued my sales letter.  And I had direct contact with them via Skype.

So using a mentor, just like a tugboat, to help you get where you are going is a wonderful thing.

Why you should seek out a mentor

A mentor can make a real difference in your career and life. He or she  can have a positive impact on you.

They guide you through times when you need someone to point you in the right direction. They encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and go for it.

They are experts in their field. Most struggled to get where they are and they can help you overcome the same obstacles.

Many successful people attribute at least part of their success to having a mentor. The right mentor can provide advice and connections that help their mentee reach heights that would be impossible alone.

The mentor becomes a source of wisdom, teaching, and support.  So seek out a mentor/coach. They are not cheap but the right one will be well worth the money.
